The Little Kettle

Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This policy explains what this website collects about you, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who runs this website

This website is run by The Little Kettle, 7 Cheap Street, Frome, Somerset, BA11 1BN. You can email us at hello@thelittlekettle.example.com. Our current contact details are always on our contact page.

What we collect and why

When you send us a message

If you use the contact form, we collect your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, and your message. The message is stored on the website and emailed to us, so that we can reply to you. We keep it until we delete it.

When you book a table

If you book a table online, we collect your name, email address and phone number, the date and time, how many of you are coming, and any note you add. We use them to hold your table, to send you a confirmation and to contact you about your booking. The booking is stored on the website until we delete it.

When you order a cake or coffee beans

If you order from our online shop, we collect your name, email address, any phone number you give, your address if you want something posted, what you ordered and any note you add. We use them to make, post or hand over your order and to contact you about it. Payments are taken by Stripe, which handles your card details; we never see or store them. Orders are kept as part of our business records.

Who looks after the website

The website is hosted for us in the United Kingdom by British Web Design Ltd. They process this information on our behalf, and they deliver the website's emails.

Cookies

The website sets two small cookies that every visitor needs: a session cookie, which keeps things like your basket working as you move from page to page, and a security cookie, which protects the forms from being misused.

Our own count of visitors does not use cookies.

If we ever switch on Google Analytics or advertising tags, a banner will ask you first, and nothing is set unless you accept. Your answer is remembered in your browser.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to us using it. Email us at the address above.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.

Staging

This is your staging site — it is not your live website. Changes land here first so you can check them before the public sees them.
